Introduce yourself to the coach. Coach will be standing near the TV at the front of the class. Feel free to express any concerns that you may have, some injuries that you’ve dealt with.

  • 2. Your Visit Will Take About 60 Minutes

All classes are structured as follows: coach will discuss general outline of the day, movements will be explained, warm-up led by the coach, skill and movement discussion and practice, strength segment, metabolic conditioning (Met-con) section, cooldown.

  • 3. Group warm-up with the class

Don’t worry, even the warm-up is programmed and coach led. You don’t have to worry about anything except doing your best and enjoying the workout.

  • 4. Learn movements step-by-step

The coach will demonstrate the movements so you don’t have to worry about not knowing what to do. And if you cannot perform that movement another movement will be provided for you that you can perform.

  • 5. Workout scaled to your level

If the workout is too hard for you, the prescribed workout can be scaled for your capability. Remember, everybody starts from day one and your goal is to grow. You are in competition with no one, this is a team.

  • 6. Leave feeling proud and energized

The workouts are tough but you will instantly be addicted to wanted to try again. You will be proud of what you accomplished in a short period of time and will want to be tested again.

You Don’t Need To Get Fit First. You Just Need To Start.

It takes less than 30 seconds.

This is THE BEST gym! After 15 years in crossfit in western Mass…ECF is my favorite box. The coaches are amazing, the energy is positive and motivating and the athletes are diverse. Being over 50 and living with limitations I am supported and the coaches have helped me make gains without injury. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this box!
p.s. there is even air conditioning!!

Great coaches and community of athletes. Whether going at your own pace or challenging yourself, it’s an awesome environment. Lots of equipment. Good group classes and 24/7 anytime access.

ECF has been my gym home for the last 2 plus years, time in which I have many ups and downs on my fitness journey. The members and the coaches have all been what have kept me going during the lows, and they've cheered me on for the highs and the PR's and the wins. I don't want to go anywhere else for my gym.

Meet the Team

  • I was always an active kid, running around with all the boys in my neighborhood cul-de-sac. I didn't play much organized sports besides a year of cross country and soccer. I'd say my fitness journey began in college when I took run conditioning as a required PE course. This sparked a few years of recreational running, completing a bunch of 10ks and half marathons. I moved to Massachusetts in 2017 and there was a CrossFit gym across the street. I wandered in one day because I heard it was a good place to make friends. I was instantly hooked on the atmosphere, the challenge, and the community. The highlight for me has been learning that nothing is impossible with time and dedication. I didn't think I'd ever get a muscle up or learn to handstand walk, but with consistency anything is possible.

The first thing that came to mind for this question was when I was a kid and I told my parents I wanted to learn to play guitar. My mom had a very old guitar laying around from Mexico, and my parents told me if you practice every day for a month we will get you a guitar and lessons. They thought there was no way I would play consistently for a month by myself with a learn guitar DVD set. I remember thinking, that's easy, I can do that. To this day my dedication, drive, and ability to delay gratification and never give up has been one of my greatest strengths.

I love coaching all types of people. I'm inspired by anyone who shows up consistently and is willing to put in the work. Apart from that, I particularly love coaching women. Many women are intimidated by barbells and training with weights and I love empowering them and teaching them to move safely and efficiently. Seeing the confidence and self-respect people develop by consistently training is an amazing thing.

  • I have been lifting since I was a kid but it wasn’t until I found CrossFit in 2015 that I fell in love with exercise. I

I love helping people feel strong and confident in their bodies!

I just want to coach people that want to learn and grow and teach them a few new tricks like handstands and muscle ups!

  • In my younger years, I was an active kid- playing sports, exploring outdoors and seeking out harmless mischief of one kind or another.  Through my elementary years, I played soccer, at a competitive level, and loved it.  It was challenging, exhilarating and moreover it was fun.  When I hit middle school, though, that changed.  The coaching became over-the-top and my peers suddenly seemed absurdly cutthroat. So, I turned to my other passion, music, and left athletics behind.  It was the eighties and playing AD/DC, Van Halen, and Scorpions songs at dangerously high volume on guitar brought back the fun and exhilaration I loved.  Yet, the lifestyle that came with it was neither healthy nor sustainable.

After college, and a couple master’s degrees later, I wanted to get back in shape and challenge myself.  My membership at various drop-in gyms around the valley, though, left me in a rut- bored and only slightly fitter than when I began.  Then, ten years ago I stumbled into CrossFit and have been hooked ever since.

In CrossFit, we as athletes make tremendous gains in strength, speed, agility and overall fitness because the coaching and programming pushes us beyond what we’ve done before and into the margin between what we thought we couldn’t do and what is truly beyond our current abilities.  This is the magic of what we do.

Now in my mid-50s, it's been important to find an atmosphere that pushes me beyond my comfort zone, and close to my limits, but without risking injury and the setbacks that come with it.  Evolved CrossFit and its member community provide this for me.  As a coach, I now seek this same balance for the athletes I work with and appreciate that the relatively small size of our gym community allows me to know each member well enough to get this balance right.

  • I am a father and a husband who has always found a way to keep my fitness intact.  I started with team sports in high school, then became involved in individual sports including MMA and trail running.  I started CrossFit 5 years ago and continue to find it challenging and interesting. The workouts are always different incorporating gymnastics, cardio, weightlifting, and plyometrics.

Coaching allows me to share my love and knowledge with anyone who comes in the door.  I love working out with people from all walks of life.  I love coaching everybody!  I enjoy coaching those new to working out, with little experience.  On the flip side, I love working with seasoned athletes who are working on a specific skill or training for an event.  It's exciting to be a part of their progress.

  • My passion is simple, I love helping people get healthier. Whether it is through chiropractic, unlocking their innate potential to heal or through CrossFit teaching them functional movements.

  • I have always been eager to learn new things, and I love coaching, teaching, supporting and encouraging people to learn and grow. I want to be an inspiration to older adults who may be on the fence at trying something new – not only will you see me and my gray hair at the front of the room, but I’ll also often be in the class alongside you! It is never too late to start your fitness journey, and I’m looking forward to showing all new and experienced athletes that CrossFit is infinitely scalable to meet you where you are now, and help you grow on your journey.

There’s something special about helping someone learn a new skill for the first time, whether they are completely new or have been working out for years. I love that lightbulb moment when it all comes together and they are able to do something they weren’t able to do or weren’t doing as well as they could just a short time before.

  • During the COVID shutdown, I had just discovered my passion for CrossFit and functional fitness.  I would lead workouts by the water every morning at 9:00 AM for my staff.  Two girls came almost every single day.  Their gains, physically and mentally, were amazing.  This is when I realized I needed to coach others professionally.

My favorite people to coach are newbies as well as the serious athlete. I love working with people beginning their fitness journey and new to CrossFit. I love helping these athletes achieve a more fulfilling and healthy life. On the flip side, I enjoy working with athletes who have been in the game for a while or have great body awareness, which makes coaching fun. With minimal coaching on lifts, I can narrow my scope and focus on the technical aspects.

  • I was involved in competitive cheerleading growing up, but mostly I did not like to exercise.  I hated the feeling of being out of breath and thinking about doing physical activities with friends (kayaking, hiking, doing a fun run) filled me with dread and panic instead of excitement.  When my wife, Dee, and I moved to Western Massachusetts in 2017, it took me about 4 different attempts at CrossFit before it clicked for me.  I began to find that in addition to the physical benefits of CrossFit, it gave me a way to manage my stress and connect on a social level.   Living far away from home and working in an industry as demanding as manufacturing, CrossFit has become a rock in my life and has given me the confidence to branch out into other physical activities as well.

I look forward to helping others, no matter where they are in their fitness.  Whether you're a beginner working on squatting with a barbell for the first time or a seasoned athlete who needs great music to push them to achieve a personal record, I want to help.  I truly think that CrossFit is an excellent foundation for health, and I am honored to be a part of that journey.

  • I have always been involved in sports.  I did running, track, yoga, weightlifting, spinning, and pretty much anything that got me moving or got me outside.  It was only a matter of time before I found CrossFit where I could combine so many of my favorite sports.

I love helping people develop a love of movement and helping them expand their potential.  I love helping people learn new things.  I love coaching anyone excited to learn and grow.

“I was nervous walking into my first class, but the coaches made me feel comfortable from day one. I never felt judged — just supported.”
